The original ranges were The Jacobite
Rebellion of 1745, French and Indian War, Peninsular
War and the First World War. He exhibited at shows
throughout the U.S. and Europe. During 1997 and
1998 Steven lived and produced his figures in
his wife’s hometown of Dunoon Scotland.
After returning to the U.S. and
following the tragic events of 9/11, Steven decided
to pursue other business opportunities. J.S. Dietz
Toy Soldiers ceased trading.
Steven has always been an avid
collector of toy soldiers. He has a particular
fondness for Imperial of New Zealand and the classic
style of William “Bill” Hocker of
Berkeley California. After realizing the shift
in the toy soldier market from traditional figures
to “military miniature” matte finished
types over the last several years Steven decided
a re-birth of his shiny collectibles was in order.
J.S.Dietz Toy Soldiers were re-introduced to the
world in early 2007!
He
has re-issued his original First World War range
and has started The Zulu War range and will soon
introduce the first sets of “War on the
Nile”, the early campaigns in the Sudan.
As a strange departure from purely historical
subjects work has begun on the first of his “Historical
Horrors” collection. Victorian Military
subjects with a macabre twist!
